About us/Contact us #01 About Us

ESSENCES - The Family Homeopathic practice is run under the direct care of Hanif Bandali, a Consultant Pharmacist and a Consultant Homeopath. The clinic was established by Hanif Bandali in April 2004 with the aim of providing the benifit of homeopathic medical treatment for the whole family. During this time, Hanif Bandali has sucessfully treated a wide range of cases, both acute and chronic, in a whole spectrum of patients from infants to the elderly.

Hanif Bandali completed his first professional degree in Pharmacy at Kings College London, where he was also an academic prize winner. He also holds an honours degree in Medical Sciences and a Masters degree in Clinical Pharmacy from Queens University Belfast. He has extensive experience in both hospital and community pharmacy. He has worked with most groups of community pharmacy practices and at several London hospitals in the field of General medicine, Cardiology, Respiratory medicine, Endocrinology, Haematology/Oncology, Paediatrics, Geriatrics and Mental Health. In addition he was Prescribing Advisor to GPs in a London Primary Care Trust and now is an Independent Consultant to GPs & Hospital doctors in both Conventional and Homeopathic Medicine.

His interest in homeopathic medicine stemmed from seeing the successful treatment of several cases which conventional medicine was stretched to treat. This inspired him to study homeopathy for 4 years at the London College of Classical Homoeopathy, where he acquired his licence to practise. Since then, he has held several walk-in clinics for the homeopathic treatment of acute & chronic medical conditions in various parts of the country and in 2004 established ESSENCES in West London.

Expertise in both orthodox conventional medicine and homeopathic medicine places him in an excellent position to treat and review the treatment options for a whole array of patients, offering this unique duel advantage. In practising both systems of medicine, he can clearly advise patients on the scope and limitations of each system, tailoring treatment to suit the individual patient and can competently treat patients on concurrent conventional medicine.

Hanif Bandali now consults patients from several countries around the world including Canada, Dubai, Portugal and Sweden. The clinic is continuing to attract people from a wide geographical area within the U.K aims to continue to provide homeopathic treatment of the highest standards.

Hanif Bandali is a member of the Homeopathic Medical Association and the Royal
Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.

Practice information – Terms and Conditions

Payment

Payment is due at the time of the appointment. If an invoice has to be raised, a 5% administration charge will be incurred. Invoices need to be settled on receipt and in any case no longer than 7 working days.

Telephone consultations

Patient call-in times

The times at which I will be available to talk to current patients will be stated on the answering machine of the homeopathic phone line. This provides an opportunity for the patient to check-in and report on their progress if I have requested such.

Telephone consultations that are of less than 15 minutes duration and which form part of ongoing treatment (i.e. within 3 months of an attended appointment) will not be charged. If however, the consultation does not form part of ongoing treatment, or where an appointment has been declined, or a prescription is issued, a consultation fee will be made in accordance with the current clinic fee structure. An emergency mobile telephone line is available but is for emergency cases only.

Telephone advice:

A free 15-minute telephone consultation is provided for those considering homeopathic treatment and who wish to discuss treatment options. Any consultation resulting in the issuing of a prescription will be charged at the appropriate fee in accordance with the current clinic fee structure. There is also a provision for patients not currently under ongoing treatment to have prescriptions issued for acute conditions, but this will be at the discretion of the practitioner concerned.

Self-treatment

After the initial consultation, the practitioner will have a good idea of which homeopathic medicines are likely to be effective in acute conditions that the patient may present with. In acute conditions I prefer patients not to self-treat and instead contact the clinic, leaving a short message of the nature of the problem and a contact number. There are several preparations that can be used in common ailments which do not interfere with homeopathic medicines and are available at the clinic, and which I would prefer patients taking
homeopathic treatment to use. If I cannot be reached, and the condition is sufficiently uncomfortable, I would prefer my patients to use conventional medicine, not homeopathic medicine. The reason for this is that this may be a response to your constitutional prescription and even though there is a risk of opposing the effects of the homeopathic medicine with conventional medicine, a self-prescribed homeopathic prescription may complicate the analysis of your case and may even deactivate your constitutional prescription.

Cancellations and missed appointments

The clinic requires a minimum of three working days notice so that the time slot can be offered to other patients. If, however, the notice given is less than this, and despite our best efforts, filling the time slot fails, then the full consultation fee will be charged. However, in most cases the fee is waved if the appointment is re-booked at the time of cancellation and subsequently kept. If, however, an appointment is not kept without advance warning of cancellation, the full fee will be charged. Only in exceptional or unavoidable circumstances will the fee be waived providing the appointment is re-booked and subsequently kept.

Home visits

These are strictly for emergency cases only and are subject to the availability of a practitioner and the distances involved.

Locum cover

A locum service will be provided in cases of my absence. It is advised however, that if the matter can wait until my return, this will be preferred.

Data protection

The data protection act 1998 places a legal requirement on the appropriate handling of personal data. Any personal information given during a consultation(name and address only) will not be discussed with third parties and will only be used for internal functions of the clinic.

I ___________________________________ (PRINT NAME) understand and accept the
